Petrol in Germany in 2016

Germany

This is a graphic about the price of fuel (€) in Germany since February 15 until May 23 in 2016. We can see the curve have more increases than decreases: to start the price was 1.23€ in February but in May the price is 1.32€. For compare average price of petrol in the world is 0.99€. I talk to a German about the price of fuel and he said it costs him more than the past year. So the price of petrol in Germany looks like the same that in France.

We interviewed a few people in the street about what they think about the green cars. We learn that they much more prefer hybrid cars, who was invented in 1900 by Ferdinand Porsche like the lady of the museum said, than the electric cars because they think that there is not enough battery life. But some people talk about the Tesla electric car, who for them is the future. Someone have explained to us that the German state subsidises a part of the purchase of a green car and implants a lot of electric refill.

Abipur is a word used in the est-country of Europe like Germany, Finland or again Estony. It’s an examination after 12 years old past in the school. It’s a bit like the baccalaureat in France. In us country, we chose a specialisation in the second year of lycée whereas in Germany, we chose us matiere, like in they high school. But if you are a good french student, you can do the “abibac”. You will do the bac and the abipur in the same time. With this “bac”, you can continu you’r study in the sector of the

Were students like eat and what is the price of cinema ticket ?

Students like have lunch in fast food like Mcdonad's or Kebabs and also pizzas. One kebab cost 1 , a small pizza cost 6 and the Mcdonald's cost around 7.
Cinema ticket cost around 6,5 and a special day for the students exist and the ticket cost 4€.

Price of the life, compare with France.

The price of public transports is a little bit high compared to France, in Germany one ticket cost 2,40 whereas in France it cost 1,70€.
The rent in Stuttgart is to expensive particulary for students. However the price of the food is less important compared to France, one kebab cost 1 in Germany and 5 in France, so it is five times higher.

Petrole price change in Germany in may 2016.

Interviews

Daily life in Germany:

During our stay in Germany, my classmates and I had to ask to people in the street some questions about their habit, what they look at the TV or what their listen but also some subject more "academic". In Germany the most popular TV Channel is RTL but they look a lot of others channels like Kika, Prozim, Disney Channel, GZSZ (to make fun), Pro7, ARD or ZDF. And German prefer public channel to private channels. They listen some German artist like Helena Fischer or Andrea Berg (Schlager), but also a lot of American artist like Eminem, Adèle, or Ellie Goulding.  They look several series like “How I met your mother ?”.

After we compare our school system with German system. And we realise that, since they are 10, they are already oriented. In France we have the baccalaureate but in Germany they have the Abitur but some German student don’t pass it because only student who go to High school had to pass it to have the right to go to University. This test is compost by three common subject (Mathematics, English and German), one language (French, Latin or Spanish), one science subject (Biology, Physics or Chemistry) and an other (Music, Sport or Art).

Germany is known for their legendary car but also for their renewable energy: they use wind or solar energy but also nuclear energy unfortunately.  German think the renewable energy are great ideas because all of us have to think about the future generation but some of them think this is not the most important thing in the world for example famine or war.

The citizen of Stuttgart's answers at our surveys

The citizen of Stuttgart's answers at our surveys

During the trip in Stuttgart, we has to ask some questions at the locals peoples to learn 3 types of infos about Stuttgart. Our themes was the everyday life in Germany, followed by sustainable development in Germany, and the last was the eatings places for students.

Everyday life in Germany : The cost.

Well... for the life cost in general, there are no many differences between France and Germany : The food costs the same price, the only difference is the price display : German people display the real price and the V.A.T just next to the first price.
Clothes are sligthly more expensive, but they are more reductions. The only real difference are the toilet ticket for 50 cents, but with this 50 cents you can be refunded if you buy somethings in the comercial center.

Student's life in Stuttgart : the places for eat somethings.

Stuttgart is a beautiful city with a lot of student, and as in every student city, there is a few great place where student hang out. So as good newsman we decide to make you a top list of the fresh student place in Stuttgart.
1: 7grad Stuttgart, the 7grad Stuttgart is a Bar/Nightclub pretty popular for young people, a lot of student meet there to partying.
2: Commercial center in the center place of Stuttgart is very popular : many différents shop for clothes, drinks, things to eat, restaurant, services.. all a students need.
3: Starbuck, even it’s a big Coffee chain around the World, Starbuck is pretty popular in Stuttgart, because of that, we can found more than 5 Starbuck Coffee in Stuttgart, students like to study or have a rest.

The price of fuel in Germany.

The 95 E10 and the Diesel are much cheaper than France but the 95 and the 98 are more expensive.
And during the trip, we noticed there are many people who using bike, skate, or just their feet, so i guess a lot of peoples have cars who perform with 95 and 98 oil.

Surveys on cost of living in Germany:

During the few days that I spent in Stuttgart I found that the cost of living was rather reasonable, there are has been no big price difference with France. In the food sector the prices have been very correct, indeed I will take the example of Haribo Dragibus candy which cost me € 1.25 the 250g package against € 1.30 in France. However I noticed that chocolate costs quite expensive in Germany compared to France.

Moreover I also compared the prices of clothes, I can say it costs exactly the same price as in France because I was mainly in big shops of  ready to wear with the same price for the country with the same currency.
Hence in conclusion I can say that the cost of living in Germany is rather similar to France, It is not really disorienting.

Survey

We work in groups of three to ask questions to people in the city of Stuttgart , we had 3 theme , the media , the electric car and the abitur.

We asked people in Stuttgart about the medias we realized the most popular TV Channel is RTL followed by Pro7 ,on this channels the most popular TV show are DSDS , Germany's next top model ( a lot of women's) , the most popular websites are Facebook and Youtube .We have asked too french people the most popular channel's are TF1 and M6 , the most popular TV show are Koh Lanta and the most popular website is Facebook, we can think RTL is like TF1 in France.
Afficher l'image d'origine
Our survey is also on the electric car , Stuttgart people think it's as good idea but not operated to the best today, electric station are too rare , he think by 10-20 years it's good for him. Some people are able to use the Tesla car , he think's it's the most trusted brand today.

The last survey is about the abitur and the difference between the '' Baccalaureat'' , some people explain it's a exam with 4 matters ( English , German , Maths and one in choice ), in France there is more matter to validate with coefficient in contrary with the abitur.

The results of our investigations

The results of our investigations

During our trip in Stuutgart were ask to interviewed local population to find out various informations about three different subject which were:
- Hobbies and Stuttgarter's favorite activities
- Sustainable developpement in Gemany
- German scholarship and high studies system

Hobbies and Stuttgarters' favorite activities.

Interviewing people in the streets we learnt that people used to practice different sports: a lot of them told us they love football and several of them told us they actually practice it. Tennis aslo brought out when questionning the population but a lot of people admited practicing a olt of yoga, walking and also an abundance of cyclist. We learnt about the presence of multiple of gyms dispersed all aroud the town.

Stuttgarters seem to be athletic and live a dynamic life.
Beyond the sports, Stuttgarters love to gather with friends and family, going to malls and visit museum or reading books.
One the most heard domain during investigations has been the love of car company. In fact most of Stuttgarter have shown an intense interest for german automobile.

Sustainable developpement

Stuttgart is very involve in sustainable developpement domain which is one of the main goals and concerns of the city. As regards transports, the town turns to green means of transport and  public transport like the bus, the subway to favours the ecological and social aspects.
In that ecological goal, Germany welcome more and more electric cars and the opinions of german population are mitigated. Indeed, in one hand the enthousiasm and the support of the project is felt, but, in the other hand interviewed people explained us that part of Germans really loves powerful cars and enjoy the unique sond of a "roaring" engine which  they don't have when driving an electric car. The government really wants to democratize these vehicule and offers 4000€ to every electric cars purchaser to induce customers to contribute to the expending developpement of the electric cars production and the progress of the nation.

They also build a lot of infrastructure inorder to developp other renewable energy to create electricity and avoid non-clean energy working with combustion. For exemple wind turbine or solar panels.

To finish, going to Stuttgart you will have the opportunity to see vegetation on the roofs of several buildings.

In spite of the effort made by the governement, Stuttgerters shamefully admit living in a poluted city but we felt that they really want things to change.

German scholarship and high studies system

About the education in Germany, the school is not really similar. In France, we have four years in middle school and then three years in high school, but in Germany, they have eight years in the same school. At the end of the eight years, they have an equivalent of the BAC, and then, to enter in the next school, it is also like in France , you have got to pass an exam or not, it depends of the school where you want to go.
The last difference between the two different education systems is that in Germany, they are three different levels of students class. They are the class of good students , the class of the medium students  and the class of the less talented. Whereas in France, the every levels are mixed in the same class.

Survey

Here are our various inquiries made during our journey

Abitur:

The German Abitur is the equivalent of the French Baccalaureate. There are some differences between both.
Abitur is obtained at the end of the secondary, higher education and differs according to Landers. For the second cycle, there are no more classes, but "courses”. In Germany, the students choose their subjects for the examination: Grundkurse and Leistungskurse (base and intensive courses), it is necessary to choose at least two advanced courses, among which the one has to be in the choice German, a foreign language or scientific subjects.Certain subjects are, however compulsory as German, mathematics, foreign language or former language, and sport. Full of combinations are possible: English/French, German / former language, math / German, sport / biology, math / biology. These two subjects will be followed 6 hours a week and take place to the written examination and to the oral at the end of last year. In comparison, French high school diploma gets ready in the sixth year of high school with the written examination, the oral of French and the supervised personal works.

Its differences: The French Baccalaureate tends to select the prize-winners in a field (as series ES, S, L, etc.) while Abitur demands her applicants to give evidence of their general qualification in university.
Another big difference lives in the system of evaluation of Abitur, which takes account only written final test; there is no oral and supervised personal works as in France

Renewable energies

Due to the many disasters nuclear, the German government decided to close gradually his nuclear power plants. Therefore the country turned to cleaner energy production like the green energies. This kind of energy refers to the energy which is produced from renewable sources of energy (solar, hydraulic, wind power, geothermal,...) and of quality cogeneration ( when there is a production combined of heat and electricity allowing a higher energy efficiency). So during these last years, Germany considerably increased the number of its onshore wind farms to cover its electricity production (one third of the power production comes from renewable energies).

Also the country produced more than half of its needs in electricity thanks to its capacities of photovoltaic production.Germany was able to set up this system thanks to its good condition of period of sunshine but especially thanks to the policy of incitement and assistant to the consumption regarding photovoltaic panels for private individuals implementation by the government.

Thereby, Germany becomes one of the countries which uses most the renewable energies and the sector of the energy in the country is one of the most important for the world.
As regards the city of Stuttgart, regarding sustainable development, the city reconstructs its station. She wishes to enlarge it and to make a passive station, that is which produces its own energy.

However the important use of its coal-based power plants ( to replace the nuclear energy) is very polluting and  comes to tarnish the "clean" image of Germany. One of reason why Germany still uses the fossil energy is because it does not succeed to store all the green energy which it produces.
So the country is one of the biggest transmitter of greenhouse gas of the world and the cost of the electricity is also very high.
